The People You Will Work With

Daniel Whitaker

Founder and Project Planning Lead

Daniel founded General Contractor Ashland KY around the belief that good construction begins with a clear plan and honest conversations. He has a longstanding interest in residential improvements and the practical details that connect project goals with budgets, schedules, and trade coordination. Outside work, he enjoys walking along the Ashland riverfront and keeping a notebook of home-improvement ideas.

Megan Adkins

Project Coordination

Megan focuses on organizing project information, tracking decisions, and helping keep communication clear as a job progresses. Raised in the wider northeastern Kentucky region, she appreciates the value of straightforward conversations and written follow-ups. She enjoys gardening and restoring old furniture, which has given her an appreciation for the planning behind property improvements.

Tyler McKenzie

Construction Scheduling and Site Coordination

Tyler's intended role centers on construction sequencing, material coordination, and keeping track of the details that affect a project's progress. He is interested in practical building methods and how different trades depend on one another to complete work safely and efficiently. Outside work, he enjoys fishing in the region and tackling small woodworking projects.

How We Work Together

We start by understanding the owner's goals, the property, and the work under consideration. From there, we identify the scope, the decisions that need to be made, and the information required to evaluate cost and timing. When a project needs design professionals, engineers, specialist trades, or local approvals, those requirements should be identified and assigned before work begins.

Once responsibilities and the agreement are clear, we aim to keep the project organized through communication, documented decisions, and a practical sequence of work. The precise services and authority provided by each team member depend on the project agreement and actual qualifications. Before publication, the business should verify that the named individuals and descriptions accurately reflect its real team.
